Bug Bites 🦟 and Poison Ivy 🌿

June 1, 2022

Summertime means being outdoors and having fun! Don’t let the pesky bugs and poison ivy ruin your vacation!

When outdoors gardening we recommend wearing protective gear: a hat, gloves and long pants or sleeves. If you do come into contact with poison ivy make sure to wash your hands straight away and avoid touching your face or eyes. The oil from the plant can get stuck under your nails and spread all over your body. Be sure to wash your clothes as well to limit contaminating others or spreading the oil in your house!

Remember LEAVES OF 3 LET IT BE!

Invest in bug repellant. Unless you are going into an infested area or hiking, we suggest going DEET free. DEET-free repellants use the oil of lemon eucalyptus to keep bugs away for up to four hours! You can also keep a citronella or lavender plant on your patio to enjoy your summer nights! Studies show these plants have the highest rate of keeping mosquitoes away.
