What is the bivalent vaccine?
The “updated booster” contains two different strains of SARS-CoV-2: the original strain and one of the omicron variant. Most current cases in the US are caused by the BA.4 and BA.5 omicron variants.
Who is eligible for the “updated booster”?
Those wanting Pfizer must be 12 years of age or older and must be at least two months since they received their last dose.
Those wanting Moderna must be 18 years of age or older and must be at least two months since they received their last dose.
